Floor Restoration Services for Schools
Sports hall, assembly hall and classroom floor restoration for schools in Surrey, completed during the holidays.
School hall and classroom floors
From sports halls to Victorian classrooms, school floors see constant heavy use. Worn lacquer, faded lines and loose blocks are not just unsightly - they can become a safety issue. We restore school floors across Surrey so they are safe, smart and ready for the new term.
Our school services
Dust-free sanding of halls and classrooms back to fresh timber
Slip-resistant sports lacquers suited to PE and games
Re-applying badminton, netball, basketball and other court markings
Replacing damaged blocks and boards before sanding
Working in the holidays
We schedule work during half-terms, Easter and summer holidays so lessons are never disrupted. Curing time for the lacquer is built into the plan, so the hall is ready when term starts. Small areas can often be completed over a weekend.
Paperwork for schools
Before we start, we supply risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), product data sheets and a copy of our £5m public liability insurance. Our team follows your safeguarding and site procedures at all times.
Restoration vs replacement
Many school halls have solid maple, beech or oak floors that were built to last for generations. A restoration is far cheaper than a replacement and much quicker to complete. It is also the greener option, keeping good timber in use. Our fixed quotes make budgeting and approval straightforward.
Maintaining your school floor
A simple maintenance plan keeps a school floor in good condition for years. Barrier mats, pH-neutral cleaners and periodic re-coats all extend the life of the finish. We give your site team written guidance after every job.
Related services
School work is part of our wider public spaces service. A lacquer re-coat every few years extends the life of the floor between full sands. Damaged parquet is put right with our parquet repair service. See our projects for examples of school halls we have restored.
Questions about floor restoration services for schools
Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?
Yes — we supply RAMS and insurance certificates for every commercial or public project. Our team is used to working on occupied sites with strict safety rules.
Can you repaint sports hall markings?
Yes. After sanding we apply sports-grade lacquer and can repaint court markings to your layout between coats so they are sealed in. Read more about our school floor restoration.
Will there be a lot of dust?
Very little. Our dust-free sanding systems capture around 99% of dust at source, so your home stays clean while we work. We also protect doorways and skirting before we start.
How soon can we use the room?
You can usually walk on the floor in socks after a few hours. Furniture can go back after 24–48 hours, and rugs are best left off for around a week while the finish fully cures.
Do you work evenings and weekends?
Yes — we plan school and public projects around term dates, events and opening hours. Large halls are often completed within a week, so disruption is kept to a minimum.
Do you work outside Surrey?
Our team works across Surrey and the neighbouring towns and villages. Not sure if you are covered?, get in touch — we are often happy to travel for larger jobs.
